Franz Josef Strauss International Airport is the second largest airport in Germany after Frankfurt Airport, located less than 30 kilometres north of Munich. Munich Airport is an important air hub for international and domestic traffic. Lufthansa Airlines and members of the Star Alliance have their base here. These airlines use the newer Terminal 2 and its satellite terminal. Terminal 1 is served by non-Star Alliance airlines.

You can park for longer periods of time at Economy Parking North P41 directly at the airport, and there are many private car parks around Munich Airport. A parking ticket for most of them serves as a ticket for the shuttle bus, which will take you from the car park to your terminal free of charge. If you want to travel in comfort and luxury, arrange with your private jet operator to take you directly to the airport. The zones in front of the terminals, named Kiss and Fly and Kiss and Ride, are reserved for short-term parking. The terminals are open 24 hours a day and offer all the services you need.
