Hockey euphoria in the heart of Europe

From 10 to 24 May 2024, the attention of all sport enthusiasts will turn towards the Czech Republic. After nine years, Czechia will again host the Ice Hockey World Championship, bringing 16 top national teams to the centre of the action to compete for the title. 

The organisers are expecting a large turnout of home fans. But it is certain that the fans of foreign teams will not be missing either, whether it is Canada, the United States of America or the Scandinavian hockey giants, Sweden and Finland.

Two main groups, two Czech cities

The tournament will initially be split into two main groups. Group A, to be played at Prague's O2 Arena, will include the Czechs, defending champions Canada and other strong contenders. Group B will be played in Ostrava's Ostravar Arena and will include teams such as the USA, Germany and Slovakia. 

The four winning teams from both groups will then travel to Prague for the real battle for medals in the play-off stage. Will last year's champions defend their gold medal? Or will the Czechs come out on top? We will soon find out. What we do know is that there will be no shortage of adrenaline-fuelled moments.
